Restrained but Strikingly Eclectic | Notting Hill Townhouse by Suzy Hoodless

This five-storey townhouse in Notting Hill is an embodiment of restrained good taste and eclecticism, brought together by the amazing British designer Suzy Hoodless. It speaks modern, contemporary, and sophistication. Yet the graphics, geometrics patterns and bursts of stronger colours bring in the playful touch needed for a family home.

A bright entry way with a monochromatic scheme highlighted by a minty green french door.

Lime green artwork and dusty pink curtain, who would have thought they worked so well together! (Also, the size of this sitting room is totally relatable to the apartment-sized living room that most of us have. If you are re-decorating, this could serve as perfect inspiration for a tasteful space)

The kitchen and dining area opens out on to the garden terrace. A teak wood credenza adds warmth and layer to the neutral palette dining area.

A pleasant surprise – a giant diagonal black-and-white stripes appear out of nowhere in the muted kitchen that leads down to the media room and work den on the lower ground floor.

Stockholm’s Low-key Luxury Apartment in Grey

Wrede, is another Sweedish real estate site in my stalking list for fabulous Scandinavian homes.

This is one of the many beautiful Stockholm apartments listed on the site (anyway, this unit has been sold).  It is a spacious period penthouse apartment of 152 square metres with 4 rooms, now serving as the living room, dining room and 2 bedrooms. I like the use of grey here, and how it maintains a balance of moodiness and lightness in the space. Also, don’t miss out the ceiling colour of the living-dining room and the master bedroom. They are a painted in different shades of teal and dusty pink, adding another layer of surprise.

A Serene Hong Kong Apartment by Hoo

Time just passes so quickly and it is July now!

Work has been quite crazy lately and I’m barely coping.

To get through that mid-week feeling, I would just like to go with something simple and soothing, just like this apartment in Hong Kong.

A project by Hoo, this apartment is not overly decorated with knick-knacks nor shouting for attention. Lots of breathing space was left for the full height cabinet painted in beautiful french grey and the chinoiserie armoire. The apartment just feel so tasteful and calming.

Not a bad idea at all to come home to a place like this after a long hectic day in the city.

Swedish Apartment with a Gorgeous Black Kitchen

I spotted this beautiful Swedish apartment over on Sotheby’s International Realty website this morning. The black kitchen with the marble backsplash is just so sleek and sexy in an understated way. And of course, the rest of the apartment is just looking as fabulous.

Ganna Design 甘納設計 | Project At Will – The Combination of Raw and Delicate

Next up from Ganna Design 甘納設計 again, is a project named “At will” that has won them the TID Award of 2014.

Similar to the Spoonful of Home Design_Project Chorus this apartment does exude the boutique hotel vibe too, but it is unique in its own way. There is a masculine air in the apartment yet it feels glamour and delicate. To me, the juxtaposition of different materials used is what making this apartment so strikingly beautiful. Raw concrete ceiling against perfectly laid-out wood floor in herringbone pattern; dreamy Heracleum lamp above a large kitchen island in aquamarine; floor-to-ceiling patterned tiles in the bathroom and an over-the-top frilly chandelier hanging above a clawfoot bathtub, bold and stunning!
