A Pretty Sweet Taipei Apartment with Danish Design – by Folk Design 馥閣設計

If you are a fan of Danish design labels like Muuto and Ferm Living, you will love this apartment at Taipei 内湖 to bits.

This decidedly Scandinavian apartment is one of the latest projects from Folk Design 馥閣設計. (Read my previous post on Folk Design here)

I like that the designer did not just keep all the walls white. Instead, a very soothing shade of grey was used throughout the house and it really complements the pops of mustard and pastel shades of the furniture and accessories. It looks so sweet, pretty and homely.

And to re-create a home like this, these are some of the quintessential scandinavian pieces spotted here that you can consider adding to your house!

Oh, and that modern looking yellow sofa is by French label Ligne Roset (Ruché by Inga Inga Sempé).

Budget-friendly Decorating – Taking cue from Serviced Apartments in Hong Kong (Part 1/2)

I came across this serviced apartment – The Precinct, at Chancery Lane, Central, in Hong Kong, which provides a good example that it doesn’t always need to cost a fortune to look like a million bucks.

If you do not have an infinite budget, I think it is always a good idea to allocate the budget to the more permanent parts of the interior, i.e. the walls and the floor that form the foundation of the styling and decoration later.

Taking inspirations from this serviced apartment – Install a faux brick wall to add characters to any generic apartment space, spend the money to get the flooring right (timber, woodgrain tiles, vinyl etc), splurge on the Ferm Living wallpapers to liven up the interior and inject an instant dose of Scandinavian chic to the space.

Then you can start to move in the budget-friendly Ikea purchase – the dining tables, lighting, shelving system etc. Mix and match with a few pieces of mid-century consoles and chest of drawers, you get a space that looks grown-up and tasteful.
