Kid’s Bedroom in the Attic – by Depot Rotterdam

This is like my childhood fantasy. When I was a kid, I’d always imagine staying in a tent. Lying on the bed, I had both my legs up to be the “supporting structure” of my blanket, to create a “cave” that made up my tent (if you could imagine). I would hold a torch light in that cave, enjoying the little camping moment =)

So don’t you feel envy of the kid who has this funky bed with a house-like structure? Just throw a blanket over the “roof”, you will get a house/tent instantly! Or just sit back and day dream at the play area below the bed…

This is the latest project I gotten from Depot Rotterdam. (It also reminds me of the small apartment in Singapore that has a house-like structure in the living room!)

Keeping the backdrop of the room all white and simple, the bed with the house-structure that echoes the shape of the attic roof becomes the focal point. The colourful poufs and toys brings out the playfulness of this minimalistic space. Definitely a space that the child can grow-up with.

Paris – The Élisabeth Residence

Location: Ivry-sur-Seine, Outside Paris

Another gorgeous home from Kid & Coe.

This one has a more grown-up ambience – a bit rustic, a bit bohemian, a totally stunning industrial-chic loft perfect for a hip family.

Amsterdam – The Lothariuslaan Residence

Location: Bussum, outside Amsterdam

This cheerful Amsterdam home is listed in Kid & Coe – A vacation rental website that provides a carefully selected list of kid-friendly residences.

Although I do not have a kid, I’m totally drawn to the décor of this three-story home, that has a boy’s and girl’s bedroom and an attic bedroom for the parents.

This is a home that you will find all things that work towards a charming Scandinavian theme –

  • Cole & Son wallpaper
  • Tom Dixon copper pendant light
  • Exposed Bulb Lighting
  • White washed hardwood floor
  • White walls, accessories in pastel hue

Drool…

Seriously, will you even step out of the house if you are spending your vacation in such pretty holiday home?

Taipei Apartment 台北市文山区 - 陈宅 by Ganna Studio

Ganna Design is a relatively young design studio based in Taiwan that has been quite a hit recently.

The designers’ own home + studio space was being featured in a number of Asia and European major home decor magazines, websites, and blogs including the Elle Decor Italia websites!

This modern apartment designed by Ganna Studio for a family of three is another recent project that I really really like.

An integrated TV and storage unit in dark color scheme anchors the living-dining area.  The doors of the storage unit were actually painted with chalkboard paint to provide a canvas for the kid to doodle on.

The folding doors of the bookshelves provide flexibility – it can be opened up to showcase the owner’s display, or close up to achieve a more streamlined look.

Can you guess that this paneling on the door is a 3D textile wall-covering?

At the dining area, the wall done a very pretty shade of greyish blue and provides a nice contrast to the dark colored TV& storage unit.
