| The Tiong Bahru Series | Boho-french Home of a Fashionista

Bella Koh

Bella Koh is the founder of the decadent ‘Flea & Trees‘ – a vintage, clothing, accessories and lifestyle store based in Tiong Bahru; and this is the pre-war flat she shares with her husband.

It is a two-bedroom, ground floor apartment with a courtyard space for their cats to roam in. French doors were built to lead from room to room.  Bella, who is also a food stylist/food blogger has an enviable kitchen fitted with marble counter top and backsplash, completed with an airwell next to the kitchen as the herb garden. In the master suite, tavertine was used to create the luxe spa look.

The owners’ impeccable taste is obvious in the decor of the apartment. The colour palette is largely retrained to white, but it never appear sterile. With the rooms flooded with natural light, it evokes an effortless boho-french feel, that is so serene, dreamy and romantic.

(P/S: I have seen Bella’s apartment being featured in The Straits Times and Home & Decor magazine years ago, and her amazing home has just recently being featured again in lilreddotfolks and thehoneycombers. So I’ve decided to compiled these pretty images that showcase her amazing home here. | The Tiong Bahru Series | Pre-war Apartment with a Private Pool

This is a listing I found in Airbnb.

Having stayed at an Airbnb apartment in my recent trip to Paris, I was curious to find out what are the kind of listing available back in Singapore, and saw this stunning place.

It is a pre-war (cira 1930s) ground floor flat that is located at the Tiong Bahru Conservation Art Deco Estate.

The flat has an open plan living, deck and study area. Upon entering the flat, you will be greeted by a colorful Moroso hanging chair by Patricia Urquiola, and a pair of Moooi heracleum lamp. Oh, and have I mentioned that it also comes with a private plunge pool?

How cool is that?

| The Tiong Bahru Series |

Pre-war architecture and heritage hawkers, along with quaint cafes and new eateries have made Tiong Bahru the much sought-after place to live and work in, a place-to-be for hipsters.

This is the neighborhood that your will find those charming pre-war and post-war flats that were built in the 1930s and 1940s. Their unique Art Deco architecture design is such a gem, and I keep wonder why HDB just don’t continue to build such flats for us in Singapore anymore?

In this series of posts, I will be sharing some of the prettiest renovated Tiong Bahru flats I’ve stumbled online. Hope you like it too!
