Small Space Living | Christophe Poyet’s Retro-inpired Parisian Apartment

A small space of 35sqm did not stop architect/designer Christophe Poyet (co-founder of Humbert & Poyet Architecture) to infuse character and charm to his Parisian pad.

This apartment is located in the attic, and originally consisted of three rooms. The highlight of the apartment is the stunning views of Sacré – Coeur right out of the picture perfect window. Christophe has completely transformed the space to visually expand the room so that all three windows can be seen from any part of the apartment.

My favourite part of this apartment is the choice of colours for the kitchen cabinet and wardrobe door. The perfect french blue and olive green that I’ve always wanted for my own home :)

Greg Natale’s Display Apartment at Harold Park, Sydney

Last year November, I was in Sydney for a business trip and happened to pick up the December issue of Belle magazine from the airport magazine stand. One of the articles of that issue was about the Mirvac Belle Life Series collaboration, which 3 leading designers were engaged to style Mirvac’s new Maestro display apartment at Harold Park in Sydney’s Glebe, each representing a different stage of life.

And I’m totally swooning over the apartment styled the award winning interior designer –  Greg Natale. Greg’s display apartment has a classic and retro look, that looks tailored but still modern at the same time. Accents of black colour furnishings were used throughout the unit, adding a sense of masculinity to the space.

My favourite – the hexagonal tiles at the kitchen island and the White on White Chevron Wallpaper from Natale’s wallpaper range.

Retro Country HDB Flat by Three-D-Conceptwerke

“Alice in the Wonderland” is the design theme that Three-D-Conceptwerke has set for this 4-room HDB flat at Eunos Crescent.

It’s obvious that a lot of thoughts have been put into decorating and accessorizing  the flat. There’s danish-style TV console, whitewash shabby chic cupboard, colourful sofa and lots of vintage looking accessories, all to conjure a retro country style home that is whimsical at the same time.

All the picture frames are actually from Ikea. Just some spray paint – you get something more unique and personalised.

Partition walls were torn down to create an open-concept layout. To still provide privacy for the lady owner, a folding door was installed to separate the master bedroom from the living area when needed.

In the dining room, a table cloth in hawaiian floral print is spotted, adding a sense of playfulness to the space.
