Small Space Living | Mid-century Luxury in a 520 Square Feet Apartment in Greenwich Village

Ending the year 2015 with my favourite topic – Small Space Living :)

This one is a New York city studio apartment belongs to architectural designer Greg Dufner. I really like the layout of this studio, where privacy is still preserved by carving out the sleeping area with a built-in bookcase as divider from the rest of the space. Every inch of the space looks just right.

It’s amazing how much style you can pack into a mere 520 square feet, and the mid-century flair is – oh so warm and luxurious.

Small Space Living | A 675 sqft Brooklyn Apartment for a Family of 3

675 sqft, is like the exact size of my apartment.

So it is natural for me to be curious of how others are living in their 675 sqft home.

This is the family home of Brooklyn couple David Friedlander and Jacqueline Schmidt with their 2-year old son. After a 4-month renovation, the small apartment was transformed into this beautiful sun-drenched space that doesn’t feel cramped at all. (Look out for some of the small space living solution like the wall mounted murphy bed in both the bedrooms!).

An Upper East Side Apartment by Sara Story

Don’t you just love these pink and lilac bedrooms?

Sarah 09

This is an upper east side apartment featured in Lonny. The owner has requested New York-based designer Sara Story to makeover the entire apartment while her daughters were away at summer camp. Given the short time frame, Sara Story and her team still managed to transform the space into this beautiful, refined and sophisticated family home for the young family.

Beastie Boys Mike D’s Cobble Hill Town House

Ok, you have probably seen this town house many times. It was featured in NY Times, major decor magazines like Living Etc, and shared by many other design blogs before. But I really love this funky and eclectic home so much that I  have to “record” this in my blog too :D

This spectecular townhouse is the family home of  Mike D of the Beastie Boys and his wife Tamra Davis and their 2 boys.

The house is filled with stylish furniture, artistic light fixtures and vintage pieces. I’ll try to list out some of the designer pieces they have here, and wish that I will have the budget to splurge on one or two of these pieces one day ~

Classic Goes Eclectic Brookyln Brownstone by Homepolish

If you are a design blogs follower, you should’ve heard of Homepolish.

Homepolish is a New York-based company that completely doing away with the traditional interior design model in the US, skipping the commissions and product markups and charge a flat hourly fee. The company’s goal is to make premium design services available to everyone, no matter the budget.

How cool is that? The company works with more than 140 interior designers around the country serving different cities like NYC, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles  etc.

I love looking at the completed projects posted in their website, and this is one of my favourite.

This beautiful 1 bedroom brownstone in Brooklyn is the home of New York Magazine‘s Online Senior Editor Carolyn Murnick.

After spending 8 years in a Williamsburg loft, Carolyn was moving into this classic brownstone and she has called up Homepolish to help her decorate.

And here’s the result after 30 hours of Homepolish time, there was even a fake fireplace included to play up the drama! =)
